Add a Tastes of the Island Pantry Box to your booking so you can enjoy fresh produce, carefully curated by the team at Gastronomo, during your stay on Kangaroo Island. 

Pantry Box pricing begins at $340 for two people (inclusive of delivery and unpacking) and includes:

  • South Australian Skara Bacon
  • Kangaroo Island Free-range Eggs
  • Angus Steak
  • Chicken Maryland
  • Lettuce, Cherry Tomato, Broccolini, Zucchini, Potatoes, Red Onion, Avocado, Baby Spinach, Lemons
  • Kangaroo Island Beetroot Relish, Chipotle Sauce, and Dukka nut condiments
  • Barossa Baby Burt Soft Cheese and Crackers
  • Kangaroo Island Garlic Salt, Olives, and Honey
  • Salted Caramel & Chocolate Cherry Coconut Slices
  • Cinnamon and Honey Muesli + Yoghurt
  • Croissants
  • Milk and Mountain Springs Juice

Deliveries must be booked with at least 14 days’ notice to assist with planning and procurement. Shorter delivery windows are not possible, so please plan ahead.

Unfortunately, the team at Gastronomo is not currently able to accommodate requests to change pantry box ingredients for dietary or other reasons.

THE ENCHANTED FIG TREE

Once upon a time, long ago, a small fig tree sapling was planted as a food source for the first settlers of Kangaroo Island. Now, 120 years later, its colossal gnarled limbs and shimmering leaves have formed an enchanting dining location.  On arrival, you will be welcomed by your enchanting host who will organise your KIS cocktail and canapes. You will then be invited to venture through the leafy entrance of the majestic old fig tree and see how it opens up into a collection of natural ‘living’ rooms, each decked out with stunning table settings ready for you to experience a magical feast of the senses.

An eight-course tasting menu that evolves in front of you as each course is cooked over the flames, coal, or smoke of an open fire pit set inside a historic sugar gum hut lit with flickering candlelight.

The intimate luncheons are hosted by Nick Hannaford, a Kangaroo Island local who boasts years of experience in designing and curating iconic special events and extraordinary dining experiences – big and small!

Sensorium takes private bookings any time of the year, depending on the availability of our chefs, and can cater for 2 – 30 guests.
